The HAGG[US] Project

I believe:

there is a world of the Spirit

there is a world of the material

there is a thin veil between worlds;

We look for ways:

to revivify our sense of the Sacred;

to frame our response to the Sacred Other;

to become aware of the presence of the Holy all around us;

to make room in mass culture for the individual;

to balance receptivity with action;

to practice being together in silence;

to shape corporate responses to social and personal need;

to be aware of the subtle gateways to the numinous.

from Credo for an October Sunday Afternoon, 2008

Our proposal (borrowing a few words from Ray Bradbury)

To trek to the golden numinous on the Isle of Iona in Scotland. We aim to climb a terrible Scots cliff, jump off and build our wings on the way down, re-entering society by way of the Edinburgh Fringe. The uncertainty is part of the adventure.

The HAGG[US] Project is a group of six women from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.  With generous funding provided by the Kenan Institute for the Arts, we have structured our “Breathe Project” around creative renewal in Scotland.

For more details on our project, please read our proposal.
